have been dating a girl for 2 years since college and we have had a long distance relationship the entire time. yes sometimes things are difficult b/c we dont get to see each other every day but when we do, it makes it that much more special. once we het married, the time spent apart will make our realationship stronger. the key is to realize that the tough times make you stronger. this helps us get over the struggles that distances causes

it seems like everyone is so sure about getting married, especially if you have been long distance for all your relationship how do you know how it will be once you two are together?

I work opposite shift from my husband and it mirrors a long distance relationship. Making it stronger is only the result. The daily choices, our positive outlook the little "I love you" messages... that all adds up to make it stronger. Trust! That alone is the most important driving force of our love for each other.

but being away is so different from actually being with that person? its hard to comment on a LDR unless you have truly been through one, most people have not

Most people do go through it, only it is in much smaller bites. When you apart during school hours or work hours, out with friends, or even getting away for time alone.

Your heart and love always gets stronger and more meaningful when your away. It does make you stronger and when you do see eachother it's like wow..Good Luck
